AdvanceTVET is a program designed to increase the participation of young women in the TVET industry especially construction. Efforts this year are directed towards expansion into rural areas in Botswana and expansion into other parts of the SADC region starting with Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi. Preparations in that direction are already in motion with the goal to see first implementation by the second quarter of the year.

  • To provide mentorship at an early stage for 50 young female TVET students and recent TVET graduates in the construction industry by assisting them to be successful leaders within the construction industry.
  • To provide soft and hard skills training to 50 young female TVET students and recent graduates in the construction industry
  • To provide participants with networking opportunities with experts (professionals and entrepreneurs) in the construction field.

Program Duration: 3 Months
Partners: U.S. Embassy, GIZ, Young Minds Africa, Botswana Women in Construction Organization (BOWICO), Construction Industry Trust Fund (CITF), Business Botswana United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Kgatleng and Tshwaragano Brigades.
