
Meet Laone
Laone T. Desert is an award-winning youth empowerment activist and change agent with more than 5 years experience in the field. She holds a vast experience community mobilization, designing and implementing programs that are inclusive and sustainable. Laone is the co-founder of Young Minds Africa, an NGO mandated to that advocates for inclusive and sustainable youth economic development.
Laone is an alumni of several international youth leadership programs; Young African Leaders Initiative, Kectil Leadership Programme and Study of the United States Institutes. In 2018, Ms Desert received an award for Best Youth Activist: In Social Issues for her relentless contribution towards addressing and confronting youth unemployment in the country. Desert holds 7 awards in Essay writing with a vast experience in public speaking. Ms Desert holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences: Economics and Public Administration. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Development Practice to further sharpen her development skills as a Development Practitioner.
